You Always Think That You'll See Them Again

I was in Cityview Optical late Thursday afternoon when I saw it flash across CNN "Michael Jackson Reported Dead".  One of those things where you have to do a double take, you can't believe what you're seeing.  I texted Tim immediately - he was just going live on JACK with Scott to announce the news.  Back in my van I listened to the songs and the reports and was reminded how fantastic MJ was in his prime.  At home I flipped on CNN  and got real weepy!  Phoned my BFFs who spent far too much on hairspray for those ski jump do's back in the 80's and we laughed and cried and toasted another one of the greats gone far too soon.  Lee-Ann was somewhat unfazed - she got weirded out by the Wacko Jacko stuff later on.  Gerry and I both agreed that all the icky stuff does not come close to erasing the impact of Michael Jackson's contributions as an entertainment, cultural and music superstar.  We talked about Farrah Fawcett too and all agreed that the cliche is true - carpe diem.  Tell those who mean the most to you that you love them - everyday.  'Cause you always think that you'll see them again.    James Taylor says it best with Fire and Rain:
