Slow Motion Walter - kickin' some serious tail...
Posted February 12th, 2009 by Scott NichollsAs you may know, I'm a former road dog, spending most of the 90's on the road throughout Canada and some of the Excited States playing in a ton of journeyman bar bands playing bass and singing lead and harmonies, basically getting paid to see the country. We opened for many acts like the Headpins, Prism, Doucette, the Queen City Kids, Harlequin, Doug & the Slugs and Blue Oyster Cult. Over the years, I shared the stage with million dollar talents with huge egos and also with some guys that weren't quite as talented, still great musicians, but damn, they were great guys. When I deci
Is "going green" a waste of money?
Posted February 6th, 2009 by Scott NichollsNot that I'm against conservation of our resources or keeping the planet clean, but maybe we're going about it the wrong way.
A report tabled in the House of Commons yesterday found that our federal governement is spending billions of our dollars to help stop pollution and curb greenhouse gases, but are largely unable to show that these programs actually work.
Innocent Until Proven Guilty
Posted February 4th, 2009 by Scott NichollsLet's remember these words, alright?
The news and details about the charges levied against Eric Tillman are indeed shocking and have been all over the news so there's no need to rehash them here.
I'm rooting for the Cards...
Posted January 30th, 2009 by Scott NichollsI saw this on Rob Vanstone's blog and I had to share it with you...
Boo Hoo for Jack Layton
Posted January 29th, 2009 by Scott NichollsSince Michael Ignatieff and the Liberals have decided to back the federal budget (so it should now pass in the House Of Commons), Jack Layton has seen his dreams of being Deputy Prime Minister evaporate. BWAHAHAHAHA!! Unfortunately for Jack, that just was the closest he's ever going to get to power.
Now he's running all over Ottawa, crying about Ignatieff and how he's created a new coalition, but this time with the Conservatives.
PETA has actually done something right for a change
Posted January 28th, 2009 by Scott NichollsNormally I don't give these wingnuts the time of day, but the commercial that they wanted to run during the Super Bowl but was banned is actually pretty hot.
Keep the kids away from the computer, close the office door and check it out here.
Not that I agree with their arguments/policy/attutude/tactics, but I am a fan of the commercial...
12 Items or less means 12 ITEMS OR LESS!
Posted January 26th, 2009 by Scott NichollsMy lovely wife wonders why I dont' like grocery shopping by myself. I think it's because she's not there to keep me in on the straight and narrow.
You see, I've been accused of having a short fuse, but my recovery time is pretty fast. I can absolutely come unglued on some pinhead who cuts me off in traffic, but be fine a block later. At work, on the road, in life in general, I have very little tolerance for stupid people, but I just let it out and I'm fine.
Not in the grocery line - there it's more of a slow burn.
Shawshank Redemption On The Big Screen? Sign Me Up!
Posted January 23rd, 2009 by Scott NichollsWell coming up on Thursday, we have one of my all time favorite for Jack's Date Night - the Shawshank Redemption with Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.
It's funny, when this movie was released theatrically, it only grossed 28 million dollars, which was only 3 million dollars over it's budget, barely breaking even. For some reason, moviegoers stayed away. But once it was released on video and DVD, it took the movie to near mythical proportions, so much so that it was ranked at #1 on the IMDB Top #250 Movies. It is one of the highest grossing rentals of all time.
Time will tell...
Posted January 21st, 2009 by Scott NichollsWell - it's done.
The Excited States have their new president, Barack Obama. Is it gonna be a case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss", or maybe it's a case of are the expectations of Obama just a little too high? There have been comparisons to Kennedy, who in my opinion, was one of the all-time great presidents, but perhaps people are expecting more than the man can deliver.

Funny Snowmobile Crashes
Posted January 19th, 2009 by Scott NichollsWell after going out on the Polaris both Saturday and Sunday with all the nice weather and jamming my neck a little bit from landing too hard, I thought I'd check out YouTube to find out if anyone was worse off than me - yep - I was right...
